A Story We Will Never Forget

Some moments remind you why you started your business in the first place.
This is one of those moments for us at Trueonefix.

Back in 2021, a USF student walked into our shop during her final year of school. She was under a lot of pressure. Her laptop was essential for her studies, and because of her visa status, time was not on her side. When we explained the repair cost, she began to cry. She simply didn’t have the money, and without her computer, her future felt uncertain.

We didn’t think twice.

We told her we would repair her laptop for free.

She was overwhelmed with emotion and promised that one day she would come back and pay us. She left our shop with a working computer, and as time passed, life moved on. Like many moments in a busy repair shop, we eventually forgot about it.

Until this past Friday.

A young woman walked into our store — this time with her husband by her side. At first, no one recognized her. Then she began telling her story, and suddenly we realized who she was. Five years later, she had returned to the United States for a short vacation and drove all the way from Miami to Tampa just to find us.

She shared something that truly touched us — today, she is an industrial engineer working in Germany. She explained that having her laptop repaired during that critical time helped her finish school and move forward with her life. Her husband stood next to her, listening quietly, supporting her, and sharing that moment with her.
