For charging, external-display, network or USB problems, bring the normal charger and any dock, cable, hub or peripheral involved when the fault occurs. Desktop customers usually need only the tower unless a monitor or accessory is directly related to the problem.

Describe when the issue started and whether it followed an update, spill, impact, power event, new component or change in setup. Intermittent symptoms are easier to investigate when we know the exact workload and sequence that produces them.

A computer used for remote work, school, household records or a small business may need a different diagnostic priority than a secondary device. Tell us about deadlines, incomplete backups, required applications and files that must be protected before testing.

For employer-managed computers, provide the IT contact, corporate ticket, approved work scope and security requirements. BitLocker, FileVault, MDM and administrator controls remain subject to owner and IT authorization.
