A clear timeline can shorten diagnosis. Tell us whether the fault began after a drop, spill, update, power outage, new component, charger change or unusual noise. If the problem is intermittent, explain what the computer is doing when it appears.

Bring the normal charger for laptop power or battery problems. Include any dock, cable or peripheral directly involved in the symptom. For most desktop issues, bring the tower unless staff asks for a monitor or accessory.

1. Check-in — Device identity, symptoms, accessories, condition and data priority are recorded.

2. Diagnosis — Relevant hardware, charging, storage, thermal or software behavior is tested.

3. Estimate and approval — Findings, repair scope, cost and expected timing are explained.

4. Approved service — Authorized work is completed and documented.

5. Testing and pickup — The repaired functions are checked before the device is released.

Remote employees and students may use encryption, organization accounts, security software, BIOS passwords or management policies. Tell us whether the computer belongs to an employer or school before operating-system, storage or account-related work.

Company devices should arrive with proper authorization and any IT ticket or recovery information required for the approved task. We use only the access needed for testing and do not request passwords through ordinary text or email.
