Learn moreKeep work devices productive
A slow, unstable or non-starting computer can interrupt remote work, scheduling, bookkeeping and customer communication. Tell us which programs, printers, docks, monitors, VPN connections or specialized devices are part of the normal setup. Bring the related charger or dock when the symptom may depend on it.
For employer-managed computers, provide the IT contact, support ticket, asset tag and authorized repair scope. BitLocker, FileVault, MDM, administrator controls and security policies may require company participation before storage access or complete post-repair testing.
Useful clues after outages
If a laptop, charger, dock or desktop stopped working after lightning, an outage or repeated power flickers, note what happened and avoid repeated power cycling when you notice unusual heat, odor or visible damage. Chargers, DC jacks, USB-C circuits, desktop power supplies, motherboards and storage devices can produce overlapping symptoms.
Bring the original power adapter when relevant. For a desktop, tell us whether the surge protector, UPS or other equipment on the same circuit also changed behavior. We diagnose the computer in our shop; outlet, building-wiring and utility problems require the appropriate electrician or service provider.
Protect files before making changes
Slow startup, freezing, repair loops, clicking sounds or missing files may point to storage trouble, but software corruption and other hardware faults can look similar. If family photos, schoolwork, accounting records or customer documents matter, tell us before diagnosis so data priority can guide the safest order of testing.
Avoid repeatedly forcing startup, resetting Windows or installing recovery tools onto a questionable drive. Depending on device condition, the right path may be operating-system repair, SSD replacement, data transfer or a separate recovery assessment.
Prepare larger systems for the drive
Shut the computer down fully, disconnect external devices and photograph the cable layout if that will help with setup later. Protect tempered-glass panels, keep the tower upright when possible and prevent it from sliding or tipping during the drive. Do not leave the system in a hot vehicle longer than necessary.
For unusually heavy graphics cards or liquid-cooling hardware, contact the shop before your visit if internal support may be needed. Usually the tower and power cable are enough; bring the monitor only when the problem appears specifically with that display or cable.
A clear repair process
Describe when the problem started, what triggers it, recent changes and any important data or deadline.
We inspect and test the device, then communicate the findings and recommended repair before chargeable work proceeds.
Approved work is completed and relevant functions are tested before the device is marked ready for pickup.

Bring evidence of intermittent faults
Intermittent shutdowns, charging faults and display failures are easier to isolate when the conditions are documented. Before leaving Seffner, note the application in use, whether the computer was hot or cold, how long it had been running and which cable or power source was connected. A photo or short video of a brief error can be more useful than repeatedly forcing the failure.
When important storage may be failing, avoid unnecessary resets or repeated repair attempts and identify the files that have priority. The Tampa storefront records the device condition and relevant accessories at check-in, then tests the reported path before approved work begins. Booking supplies a preferred arrival time and the initial symptom history; it does not replace hands-on diagnosis or guarantee that a part-dependent repair will finish during the same visit.

“Quality service with attentive and honest associates. I took my GPU here after my computer died. The same day, they did a diagnosis of it free of charge. They kept me posted through text and email the whole time, and told me the GPU processor was the issue. Told me up front that repairing it would cost $285, and told me honestly that it may be better to get a new GPU. They helped me a great deal in troubleshooting my PC, and if I ever have an issue with the hardware again, I'm definitely coming back here.”
